I have a few ideas to get this site back in gear:

#1 Create a twitter/facebook/myspace for advertisement

#2 An award system would reward members for participation, and they would keep coming back

#3 UPDATE THE POINTS SYSTEM with new prizes like special items within the game

#4 Add a few more games other than pokemon(Not that it isn't a great game, just to get more people).

#5 Update the staff: THEY (MOST) ARE INACTIVE

#6 Profile need to have more pizazz, you can't even post visitor messages

#7 (may not be possible) Create an online game, like the once great pokemon crater.

Also, I was starting to make a pokemon forum a few days ago, but decided I'd rather focus on reviving Shaywin. Anyway, here are some of the ideas I had:

Pokemon Shrines - yeh... these were going to be just little tributes to my favorite pokemon, but we could have a pokemon of the month or the like. i was planning on making 2-3 minute videos of footage of said pokemon, and then draw/ask permission to use other people's drawings of the pokemon and post those below the video. just a fun unique thing to have. could also include battle strategies and the like. maybe even hold contests to win that month's shrine pokemon

Pokemon League - would be a reason for people to come for sure. 8+ gyms, you need 8 badges to challenge the champion. anyone who defeats the champion gets to become the new champion and gets a special something-or-another.

Little Cup Promotion - hehe, I'm still on a bit of a LC kick and would love to see more people playing it.

Also, Shaywin-specific things I'd like to see include:

1. New layout. Just because this layout makes me think of the dead version of the site
2. SHB should have the ability to send a mass-email to all members. Tell them if they do not come back and post in a certain thread(like a roll call thread) within 2 weeks, their account will be deleted.
3. Reorganized boards. Personally, I think a layout like this would work nicely(this is, of course, assuming we can use sub-boards):

* Yeah, I think this would be a useful board. Because it gives hackers a place where they're actually allowed to trade hacks. Obviously, hacks would not be allowed anywhere else on the site. But I think it would help reduce scams if you allow hacks in one part of the forum only.
